I just really love creating art. It’s the only thing I want to do and the only way I can communicate to the world outside of me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love abstract and figurative forms combined. I find that this mixture of the two is my favorite way to create pieces of art. It blends the real with the surreal and creates something unique and interesting. I find that this is the only way to for me to create art.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from an ongoing exploration of the body as both a site of beauty and fragmentation. Drawing from personal experiences with physical vulnerability and transformation, I’m interested in how identity is constructed, disrupted, and reimagined. I’m particularly influenced by artists who challenge traditional representations of the figure, using distortion and abstraction to reveal emotional and psychological complexity.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would use it to support my practice at a moment where stability would deeply change how I create. Access to a studio, better materials, and proper documentation would allow me to work more freely and with greater care. More than anything, this support would give me time—time to fully engage with my process and create work that honestly reflects my experiences with the body, vulnerability, and transformation.
