Creating art gives me a true sense of freedom and connection. It reveals how it inspires others and decorate time and space for generations.

My favorite type of art to create is both visually appealing and thought provoking. I love abstract expressionism, cubism, and surrealism. So, when it comes to my art, I hope the viewer can see the layered inspirations from the masters before. My process is intuitive and I use surrealist methods in tandem with cubist techniques to create my unique style.
Where do you find inspiration?Being a multidisciplinary artist allows me to draw inspiration from various disciplines and forms of art. It goes beyond the canvas and frame. It spills into the pages of poetry books, it dances on the notes within music, and it can stand in awe beneath the clouds in the sky. I love art enough to find inspiration in anything, so I’m constantly driven to draw it out of myself or what ever idea is pulling me in the moment.
What would you do with $25,000?With the $25,000, I would use it to start a business that would allow me to create art full time. I’d invest in various spaces that supports art initiatives and the art community in Detroit I’m apart of. A portion of the award would go towards framing the 50+ pieces I have finished, and renting venues in Detroit to host and curate art shows. Additional funds would go towards finding a place to live, where I can bring others in and share the artwork I’ve collected over the years.
