What is your favorite type of art to create?

The art I most enjoy creating is one in which I can reflect my emotions, thoughts, stories, and protests because art allows me to live and express many feelings in a single object. My favorite is oil painting, as it's the medium with which I've developed my skills the most, and I feel it's the one with which I best express myself and can communicate my ideas. I also like it because I've defined my own style, which in my opinion makes my works more personal, and I enjoy it very much.

Where do you find inspiration?

My greatest inspiration has always been the theater and the women artists I've met and who surround me. These two factors have made me appreciate life's experiences much more, since theater can represent so many things at once, and it's something that has inspired me to express my own ideas on my canvas. The women around me, like my painting teacher, the women in my family, and indigenous artists, are a very important factor that drives me to continue creating what I love most.

What would you do with $25,000?

With $25,000, I could finish paying for the remaining semesters of my degree and graduate. I would also use it for living expenses and school supplies, since these are necessary for my studies. I'm a 19-year-old Mexican girl, and I'm very excited about this opportunity because my dream is to dedicate myself to fine arts, which is my field of study. This would be a great help in finishing my studies in Canada and returning to my country to promote art with vulnerable groups and fellow Mexicans.
