I make art through play—layering image fragments and memory into new forms that hold the past while reaching toward the unknown.

My favorite work involves weaving together different layers of meaning, like combining traditional watercolor with the structure of quilt making. In my "Entropia" series, I explore the polarities revealed through deconstructing and reassembling. Rooted in quilting structures and fractal geometry, the work examines the interplay of chaos and control, tradition and innovation, and the entropic nature of existence—a process I find to be a fascinating exploration.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in art history and how it shapes us as humans. I’m fascinated by human behavior, the power of words, and the physical nature of materials and processes. I love looking at how traditional crafts and painting connect to how we act and think today. For me, inspiration comes from the hands-on act of making—engaging deeply with the process and the materials themselves to see what they can reveal about our world.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would first upgrade my studio space and invest in higher-quality materials to expand the scale and technical reach of my Entropia series. Beyond the studio, family is central to my life, so I would also use a portion of the funds to start an education fund for my grandchildren. It’s a meaningful way to support my creative practice today while planting seeds for the next generation's future.
