I paint what I feel, chasing the edge of vitality while questioning humanity and grounding myself in the absolute presence of now.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favourite type of art to create is that which translates feeling into form, capturing the wonder and magic of my surroundings. Using mark-making to find shapes within the chaos, I create edge, unconventional pieces that bridge the gap between strange and the beautiful. This journey of capturing an emotion spans many mediums, but my current practice is focused on mixed medium painting.
Where do you find inspiration? There is unique magic in creating art from nothing; it is a process of being fully in the now, where intuitive marks & vibrant colours guide the way. Without preconceived sketches or plans, I rely on pareidolia to reveal hidden shapes within the chaos, letting the energy of the moment dictate the path forward. This constant dialogue between action & discernment maps my own path of self-awareness. It is here, in the raw energy of the present, that I build the confidence to inspire future work.
What would you do with $25,000?I would endeavour to focus on art full-time. I have plans for a self-directed, multi-medium project that I would like to achieve which showcases my creative abilities. Beyond my studio work, I plan to deepen my engagement with my local artisan community demonstrating how art fosters healing, connection & cultural identity. In a region recently challenged by arts defunding, I aim to advocate with an open heart for the essential role art plays in our shared humanity.
