Creating art is an intimate experience that gives me purpose, allows me to witness my own growth, and brings me joy.

My favorite type of art is painting, specifically oil painting brings me the most joy. I enjoy the messy process and using it to create still life paintings with expression and meaning.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from my great grandmother, a talented painter who dedicated many years of her life to making art. Despite never having a formal education in art, she taught herself to paint and draw through books and art magazines. When I look at her paintings I see her passion and it instilled in me that art is not a talent but a purposeful act of dedication and creativity.
What would you do with $25,000?Given the opportunity, I would continue my education in the arts by traveling abroad to learn from different artists and cultures. Experiencing different environments firsthand would allow me to grow creatively by exposing me to new perspectives that challenge the way I think about and create art.
