My favorite type of art to create is inspirational/abstract expressionism. I want my art to touch the person and often hope to express my deep feelings through somewhat abstract art. I also enjoy creating cartoon art. I enjoy multiple media venues of expression, such as; Watercolor, marker, acrylic, oil, and sculpture.
Where do you find inspiration?Life is my inspiration. Music inspires me. Seeing people and how they live and struggle is also an inspiration for me. My own life has been quite challenging at times, and art is definitely cathartic and vital to my survival of the dangers I have faced. Dangers brought on my myself and others, including poverty, multiple car accidents, chronic pain for 25+ yrs, domestic violence and cancer. Nature itself is also an inspiration and a balm to my soul.
What would you do with $25,000?I would like to offer creative writing and art journaling classes to families with low income children and those facing cancer/chronic pain, in my area in community/cancer centers. I would use the money to buy supplies for the classes, such as Journals, watercolors, acrylic paint, etc. to use in the classes. I would like to also have creative writing classes as well. I have a BA degree in English/Creative Writing and almost a BA degree in Fine Art/3D, but I had to quit when I got cancer.
