I thrive on conceptual works, often pondering existential questions and poking fun at societal norms and expectations— for instance, using a clown motif to poke fun at the American Dream. I’m an experimenter at heart, so my love of art is closely connected to my fascination with materials like paint, ink, and graphite and the ways I can bring pieces to life through texture and color. I also love painting and drawing portraits, specifically of people who inspire me to live a creative life.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in being alive, and in humanity at large. I find people to be beautiful, fascinating, and complex. Whether it is film, music, art, or literature, I am deeply inspired by the ability of the human mind to create new worlds and share experience that are both unique and universally felt. I am so grateful to be living in New York City, where I truly meet the most beautiful and inspiring people at every corner— whether it’s at a gallery, or on the bus commuting to work.
What would you do with $25,000?With 25,000, I would be able to put money towards my student loans! I would still have a long way to go, but it would make a big difference.
