Art provides a sense of connection between my thoughts and the world around me. Creation is the epitome of self-expression.

I primarily work in oil and acrylic paint. My favorite type of work is one that tells a story. Each piece I’ve dedicated my time too in the last year has been driven by narrative. Much of my work reflects themes that are important to me in my own life, and i love to create pieces that relay these messages to their audience.
Where do you find inspiration? As an artist, I frequently draw inspiration from the world around me and the media I intake. I find that the best way for me to spend my time and address my thoughts is to paint. When I need to sort and digest my ideas, I turn to my sketchbook and a blank canvas. Throughout my life as an artist, I’ve also noticed the community that art brings. With other artists, I can share my experiences, knowing that they can understand my perspective. Much of my inspiration is drawn from artists I admire.
What would you do with $25,000?As a junior in high school, I have been feeling the pressure of college and the fear that I will make the wrong decision. I have so many dreams in which I go to New York or Chicago, becoming a working artist and living off my own art. Going to a college such as SAIC in Chicago would open up so many opportunities for my future, but then comes the monetary dilemma. I’m faced with the decision of going to my dream school or staying in state. However, I know this opportunity would change everything.
