I paint to name women’s power in every shade, turn my rage into beauty, and give her a place to rest — somewhere between heaven and earth.

I create mythic, surreal portraits built from layers — women, animals, symbols, and color. I’m drawn to work that feels like a dream with a pulse, where heritage, emotion, and imagination collide.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by women because every day we’re reminded we’re still fighting for basic respect. Rights get stripped, voices get dismissed, and we’re expected to stay quiet and pretty about it. I paint women big and loud — emotion, rage, softness, all of it. I’m moved by every culture, every face, every woman carrying her own history. That’s where my work comes from.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d use it to buy the one thing my art has never had: uninterrupted time. Two residencies, the space to step back, and the room to build a body of work shaped by my roots — the stories, the women, the inheritance that raised me. Work that feels like memory and rebellion at the same time.
