I create art because it gives form to the stories I carry stories of identity, culture, and transformation.

My favorite type of art to create is mixed media abstract work. I love layering textures, bold colors, and different materials to tell stories of identity, culture, and transformation. It gives me the freedom to blend my African roots with the energy of Charlotte, creating pieces that feel raw, expressive, and deeply personal.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the intersection of my roots and my surroundings my African heritage and the energy of Charlotte. It comes from everyday moments, conversations, music, and the stories people carry. I’m especially drawn to themes of identity, resilience, and transformation, so I often reflect on personal experiences and cultural symbols, then reimagine them through texture, color, and movement in my work.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest the $25,000 into growing my art and creating opportunities for others. A big part would go toward expanding my 704 Reborn vision producing larger, more impactful pieces and showcasing them in Charlotte. I would also launch a program to support local artists, helping them find their voice, build confidence, and access real opportunities through mentorship, workshops, and exhibitions. Beyond that, I’d reinvest in materials, marketing, and community events that bring people together.
