Annie Caropresi

I create art to quiet my mind and slow down. Focusing on each dot and then stepping back to see the full piece satisfies my soul.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite type of art to create is detailed and intricate pointillism. I want the viewer to be pulled in closer and look at the different brush strokes, each dot, and detail that could be missed from a distance. It enables a new connection not only to the piece, but to the artist as well.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in nature, animals, and beadwork. I love wild animals, plants, and southwestern landscapes. I also find inspiration in music; a song I'm listening to can create an image in my mind, and I try to recreate that feeling on the canvas.

What would you do with $25,000?

With $25,000, I would love to spend some time in New Mexico and Arizona, exploring, taking photographs, and finding new inspiration for my art. I would also build a better studio space.
