I make art to express the swirling hurricane of emotions trapped inside my head, to turn the song of my soul into a melody worth sharing.

I love anything messy or that gets my hands involved, especially mixed media and experimenting with different art forms. I enjoy exploring textures, colors, and creative techniques. I also love when my art carries meaning, especially by weaving lines of literature or poetry into the piece to add deeper emotion and personal expression. I have had the opportunity to be apart of the marching band fir 5 years and making music with my trombone brings me joy and peace like nothing else!
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the world around me—in images, nature, and my own experiences. I am also a very visual person, and sometimes while enjoying my favorite books or movies, ideas for art come to me so I can express them in my own special way. I have noticed that some of my most enjoyable artwork has come after life-changing experiences that inspire me to express myself through art.
What would you do with $25,000?The $25,000 would honestly change my life. I am a senior in high school, and over the past few months I have decided on my dream college, Western Carolina University. It has a lovely campus, and I hope to study education while also pursuing graphic design or art. However, due to recent expenses, including an emergency surgery, and a lack of state funding, I am left figuring out how to continue my education on my own. This scholarship would allow me to pursue my dreams and continue creating art!
