I love to creating art because it turns my emotions into something visible where I'm able to capture stories that words cannot describe.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art is expressionism and my favorite mediums are ink, oil, and graphite because each medium captures emotion in a different form. Painting allows me to explore color and movement, ink allows me to create contrast and detail especially when doing pointillism, and graphite allow for depth, softness, and realism as seen in my portrait drawings. And I love how these mediums give me the freedom to express moods and stories in a powerful way in order to inspire one to do the same.
Where do you find inspiration?Music is a huge source of inspiration for me, especially anything that feels intense or raw. And I do an exercise where I try listening and sketching what the sound feels like and I do small thumbnails in my sketchbook. As well as painters like Edvard Munch and Ernest Ludwig Kirchner and how they exaggerate color and form in their artwork.
What would you do with $25,000?What I would do with the $25,000 dollars would be to invest part of it in my art journey and the rest to help my family, and to give back to my community, especially my church because I am a big believer that kindness is like a boomerang, it always finds its way back to you, as Frank Caprio says.
