I deeply value genuine human connection. Tattooing as a medium for my art allows me to connect with amazing people from all walks of life.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite types of art to create are those that employ a blend of different styles and mediums. On paper, I enjoy blending charcoals with paint and colored pencils on toned or textile surfaces, and I also enjoy wood burning. In tattooing, I love creating collage-style pieces with elements of various styles in compositions that are rooted predominantly in realism.
Where do you find inspiration?I can find inspiration anywhere and everywhere. It often just comes on in the spur of the moment and I have taken to writing down notes so I can come back to these inspired ideas when I am in a space to create. I also find a tremendous amount of inspiration in the people I work with. Taking time to get to know each of my clients and understanding the stories behind their tattoos is so important to me, and this gives me a greater sense of where to go in creating their designs.
What would you do with $25,000?My wife and I aspire to one day relocated with our daughter and 3 dogs to a cozy little place in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in hopes of creating a better, more sustainable life for our family. $25,000 will give us a fantastic boost toward realizing our goal!
