Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

Abstract and expressionist work is my passion. I strive to create visuals that no one has ever seen before, something that comes directly from my soul. I want to convey honest feelings through color palettes and brush strokes, and to inspire others to believe in what comes from them. I believe we all have something completely unique inside of us and I want to honor that aspect of humanism with my work. It’s easy to succumb to conformity, it’s comfortable. I want to push people past that comfort.

Where do you find inspiration?

Both the beauty and brutality of life. Our mortality has always been a difficult topic for me, but I choose to see it as a reason to live life as honestly and deeply as possible. I live every day knowing that it may be mine or my loved one’s last day. That pushes me to continue resisting complacency and work every day towards my dream of becoming a full time artist.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would allocate the money towards gallery applications, art shows, better supplies. I would also invest into updated portfolios, website updates, certificates of authenticity for my 1 of 1 paintings, all of the expenses I work my 8-5 corporate job to cover. This would majorly change the trajectory of my art career, as I currently live paycheck to paycheck in order to afford art supplies and rent. I would be forever indebted to The People’s Artist if I received such a generous offering.
