I am most drawn to figurative Cubism—reconstructing the human form through faceted planes to reveal inner emotion. My work lives in the space between abstraction and intimacy, where structure becomes a language for feeling.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration primarily in people—their presence, their emotions, and the often unspoken tension that exists between them. Faces, gestures, and moments of connection or distance become the starting point of my work. I am drawn to the idea that identity is never singular; it is layered, shifting, and complex. Through painting, I try to capture that multiplicity. My visual language is deeply influenced by Cubism, particularly its ability to break form into facets and reconstruct it back.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would use it to strategically elevate my artistic practice by focusing on both creation and visibility at an international level. A significant portion of the funding would be dedicated to producing a new body of large-scale paintings within my Amanti e Amici series. Working at a larger scale allows me to deepen the psychological and emotional complexity of my figures, using the language of Cubism to explore identity, intimacy, and human connection.
