I create art to process and understand the human experience. To find light in the dark and to inspire others to do the same.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to blur the line between abstract and realism while incorporating creatures and other lovely items of nature, that can accompany the female form. I use opposing colors mixed together to create soft shows and dew infused highlights that can look almost wet to the touch.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration usually comes to me in between mundane moments or in flashes after painful memories. I do my best to capture these images. As if the back of my eyes inside my own body were a camera. I am nearsighted so I often zoom into what I see. There is never ending beautiful textures and patterns untapped there. Then I collect images for reference and start building studies and sketches to clarify the expression that I saw within.
What would you do with $25,000?To be fortunate enough to receive this award, I would of course get more art supplies but I would also help build investments for my siblings. With this privilege, I can then hopefully be in a stronger position to teach others to do the same for themselves. This way they don’t have to experience as much hardship that all of us at times are too familiar with.
