Where do you find inspiration?I am an extremely heavy dreamer, I close my eyes and a whole world unlocks. This is a huge source of inspiration as I’ve painted much of what I’ve dreamed. I’ve also always been inspired by art history, Tim Burton films in their dark yet magical tone, and the divine feminine strength of the women who raised me. Lastly, growing up in Miami and seeing the duality of the modern world in such close proximity to the mysterious depth of the ocean has brought me much wonder and influence.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would invest into my craft and focus on a project I’ve been dreaming to bring to life, as I’d finally have the capital to do so if I were to win this contest. I’m in the process of illustrating for a book I’ve written that has the underlying intention of teaching children the importance of oceanic health, biodiversity, and inclusion of others regardless of differences. Secondly, I’d buy a new laptop that I desperately need to tend to my online art shop.
