I’m drawn to mixed media because it lets a piece breathe beyond paint alone. I start with an image, then build a story—layering in fragments of the world around me: weathered paper, newsprint, echoes of the past, bits of language, even the humor of modern memes. Each element becomes a thread, tying history to the present, memory to moment, until the work feels alive—rooted in yesterday, but speaking clearly to today.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the quiet poetry of everyday living—the shifting colors of the sky, the fleeting sound of a child’s laughter as they run past, the rustle of the morning paper carrying stories of politics, fashion, and the world unfolding in real time. It’s all of it—the ordinary, the overlooked—that finds its way into my work, transforming simple moments into something layered, expressive, and alive.
What would you do with $25,000?Absolutely invest it back in my work.
