I enjoy painting portraits of pets and my friends, family, and their loved ones. I like using acrylic paint the most, but I also use watercolor, gouache, poster paints and sometimes draw with pencils and pens. Acrylic is my favorite because its something that I learned to use at a very young age and reminds me to be inspired by the curiosity I have always had for art. It is the deepest tie to my roots.

I love painting my loved ones. Most of the pieces I paint for other people are the same, often, those who aren't with us anymore. My process is taking 2 or more photos of who I paint to create a new, unseen glimpse of them. I find it touching to hand my pieces to their new owners and watch their reactions of seeing someone they miss once again, in their favorite clothing with memorable facial expressions. The piece shared today was a gift to my fiancé of our dogs, both of which we love dearly.

My fiancé (aka my muse) and I are getting married next May. I'd put some funds towards the wedding and medical bills, but I think most of it would go back into my art supplies and space. As a creative, I'm sure everyone similarly could also be better organized and needs storage, but beyond that my space is very much due for new flooring. It currently has carpet and has paint stains. Linoleum or tile could be so much easier to clean, leaving more time to experiment, create, and grow!
