For me it’s simple, I feel compelled to create. The satisfaction isn’t in the finished product it’s in creating nothing into something
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Storytelling is my medium. I use organic unassuming shapes as my language to tell plots that whisper.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere and nowhere special. From the shapes of the fish that swim in my fish tank, to the color palette and patterns that I see people wear on the bus. I find inspiration in the quiet everyday stuff and the mundane world hands me ideas.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d build the future this money is asking me to build, be able to create without the ceiling, pressing down. Studio space, new materials. The freedom to finally focus and make work i’m proud of. But I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t ease some weight off of my family too. The world is brutal and I can’t watch my mom struggle like this. But the core of it? This money buys me focus and there’s no better time for me to get my head clear and create.
