Art invokes. It is beautifully and painfully human. I simply wish to show others what art invokes within me, and perhaps within themselves.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I enjoy various types of illustration, including visual development art for media. A novel, a game, a music visualizer; all of these can be powerful fusions of storytelling and personal expression. I particularly enjoy painting, pigment pens, graphic design, and sketching. They're even better when mixed together!
Where do you find inspiration?I enjoy reaching into the human psyche, the natural world, history and personal experiences for inspiration. I also find beauty in artists whose works are best described as visceral and unyielding. Ken Currie, Jesse Draxler, and Francisco Goya's black paintings are all major sources of inspiration. The disturbing can still be profoundly beautiful.
What would you do with $25,000?I would establish more stability in my life so that I can more fully dedicate myself to sharing my work and making connections to other artists. Nothing is as fulfilling as being able to spend your free time learning, teaching, and creating amongst other artists. It is a home away from home and I want to be a bigger part of it.
