All my life I grew up around the arts. My mother was an art teacher, so I learned so many ways to show my soul. The soul reflects in art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love the performing arts. Writing and charcoal art are up there as well. I greatly admire those who are absorbed into a different character. I love doing drag and transforming into the song I’m mimicking. I love charcoal art because it’s taking shadows and transforming them into something bright. I love writing because it uncovers many secrets of the mind, conscious and subconsciously.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in darker yet quirky aspects of the world. Growing up, I dealt with Marfan syndrome. Observing how my body transformed with it, especially after surgeries. The work of Hunter S Thompson also influences me greatly. HR Geiger, Vivienne Westwood, Francis Bacon, Kafka, Rozz Williams and many more people have opened my eyes to such fascinating aspects of life.
What would you do with $25,000?There is many things I would do with that wealth. Helping my local goth and LGBT community grow. Donating $1000 to the Art Sanctuary and another $1000 to Art Portal. I will save some of that wealth in a reserve for myself to start my journey to LA. I want to invest in the arts and into my community. I want to be able to travel and see all the beauties and uglies life has to offer outside of Louisville.
