I create integrative art to express my wonder of the world, using science and other disciplines to explore the spiritual concepts that shape
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I prefer 2D media for its versatility and how it requires one to imitate dimensionality. I gravitate towards juxtaposing imagery and ideas from academia and religion. Other times, I make art to learn from the process of creating. That’s the best kind of surprise.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from scientific diagrams, the human body, mathematics, history, and spiritual concepts. However, the people I encounter also shape the bones of my work; I reinterpret what they teach me visually. I usually consolidate these “idea threads” in notes, combining them intuitively, sometimes letting a narrative emerge in reverse.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use this $25,000 to study art abroad in England or Italy, and fully immerse myself in a practice central to my life and identity. Though I am not a fine arts major, art continues to shape how I think and interact – especially within my major (nursing). This funding would provide access to exclusive mentorship, cultural exposure, and hands-on learning. With this opportunity, I would grow as an interdisciplinary artist and deepen my perspective.
