What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite art is natural scenery that draws the viewer in,giving them a sense of hiraeth or longing in hopes they will yearn and search for it in the world around us.In this day and age it is important to restore the human desire to connect and heal nature, opposed to finding things to replace it. In most cases my favorite pieces are those of which show the ocean or forest, with a gloomy and calm mood. Often times I add in a whimsical touch to give an otherworldly/ alternate dimension aspect.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in almost anything natural, from leafs and bugs, to clouds and rain. At the end of the day, every leaf on that tree in your front lawn , every splatter on the concrete while it rains, every shell at the beach; those crystals from that crystal shop downtown, all the way down to every feather on a birds wing, is Nature's masterpiece. Each and every part is full of texture, color and every part has a story. It is up to your mind, and hands, to remember them, and tell their story.

What would you do with $25,000?

If I won the $25,000 I aim to research alternatives for harmful chemicals in art materials and find a way to add nature back into the items we use to paint and draw. Humans used to paint with berries and minerals, build with natural rubbers and make things by hand. I aim to Replace toxic plastics with biodegradable materials, Removing harmful chemicals or finding nontoxic alternatives with the same appearances. Not only nontoxic to humans, but nontoxic to the plants, animals and soil.
