I’ve been a predominately digital artist for a long time, I like to keep my art organized digitally. However, I’ve worked with a variety of traditional mediums as well. I enjoy drawing characters or scenes, and making up a story to go along with them as I draw. I make most of my art in an attempt to build something out of an idea. When I have a good idea, a character or concept I obsess over every day I create about it. Generally, my favorite kind of art to make is art with a good story.
Where do you find inspiration?I am often inspired by my everyday life, things that go on in my head, narratives I make up to entertain myself. I’ve built a sort of loose universe around my art, if each figure has a story and personality, I am simply more inclined to come up with ideas involving them. I love gaining new life experiences, meeting new people, and learning new skills because it gives me more to work with. Chasing ideas that appeal to me is a joy I don’t think I’d be motivated to keep creating without.
What would you do with $25,000?I’m just finishing my freshman year of college, and the main appeal to me of $25,000 is the ability to become independent. I’d love to have a career in visual art, I want to be able to sustain myself and help out friends if they need it. $25,000 would open up a lot of opportunities for me in the way that it would allow me to explore different education and career options, and mainly go towards moving out of my parents’ house.
