What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love to create abstract acrylic paintings often with the addition of graphite or some sort of ink drawing over it. I love abstract art because it doesn’t feel like an exploration of the subject but of the material or the process itself . Acrylic is my favorite medium because it feels the least permanent . If I wanted to I could let it dry and paint over it creating a new piece. letting it dry in between layers also forces me to take a break which is something I usually struggle to do.

Where do you find inspiration?

As an architecture student I find that most of my inspiration comes from my architecture studio classes. My first year studio class is what inspired me to make abstract art in the first place. I see people creating amazing pieces all the time and they don’t even realize what they are doing is art To them it’s just an assignment. I am so thankful for the class as I now see the creative process as a system or an experiment. I allow the materials to lead as I am the just humble guide.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would most likely try to invest the money back into my art and use it to save up for a studio space or a house in the future. I need a space where I can be free in order to feel inspired. Somewhere that’s safe to be loud and messy. Where I can work big or really small. Also art supplies are expensive so I would buy those too
