Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

In recent years, I’ve been drawn to painting skies—dramatic sunsets, rolling storms, and moments where light breaks through heavy clouds. To me, they feel like glimpses of something greater than ourselves. Many of my pieces begin with a loose idea or Scripture, but I rarely force the outcome. I let the painting evolve naturally, the same way the sky does—unpredictable, powerful, and full of meaning. That process reminds me of both God’s presence and the freedom found in creating without limits.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in the beauty of God’s creation—moments that are often overlooked but deeply felt -whether it’s the way light hits a landscape, the expression on someone’s face, or the movement of wildlife. My work lives in the balance between realism and expressionism. I want my paintings to feel recognizable, but also emotional—something that doesn’t just capture what you see, but what you feel. More than anything, my goal is to create pieces that bring light to those who experience them.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would begin saving for a gallery inspired by Victorian and French design—high ceilings, chandeliers, and a timeless atmosphere —like something out of a classic Disney movie . More than a gallery, it would be a creative refuge with studios, a café, and space for artists to grow. This would be the first step toward building a place that supports and uplifts emerging artists. It has been my dream since I was kid!
