Art has always kept me happy and seeing joy come to one’s face when they see my art makes me want to spread that happiness to the world
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is traditional art. It’s the foundation of most of my sketches and some of my favorite pieces I’ve made throughout my time as an artist. I use pen and paper in my sketchbook and let my imagination run wild. Using pen allows me to turn mistakes during the process into unique additions to my art, I don’t believe in mistakes, I believe you can turn almost anything into something that makes your work even better.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my biggest inspirations in artist like Keith Herring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and KAWS. They remind me how people who come from and often misunderstood form of art like graffiti can become incredibly successful. They also show how an ordinary person who creates art simply because they love it can eventually share their work with the millions of people around the world.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to help pay for a good art college so I can become an illustrator and author creating books based on my own characters. I would also use it to start a clothing brand and figurine line based on my characters.
