I create art through singing because it makes me happy. Vocally exuding happiness, makes other people happy. It's a chain reaction.

My favorite art to create is the manipulation of notes to tell a story of life's roller coaster of feelings. There are songs for every occasion and songs to assist your journey thru life. My favorite genres is blues and gospel. I was raised in the church on faith & a higher power in my heart, but the grit of the blues stirs my soul. My favorite type of music is that music others can relate & enjoy thru my note & story manipulation. Nothing like seeing the JOY in others.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from my upbringing, life experiences, my ancestors & the universe. Though there are many songs I perform frequently, but there are some that come to mind solely from old memories of joy & delight that I've not heard in years. Mainly sung to me or around me by my mother &/or grandmother. These strong southern black women taught me so much, just by watching & listening. Two other inspirations are my M&M'S, Marie & Michael. They are the true performers who helped create SHESHE.
What would you do with $25,000?Winning $25,000, I would pay up my NYC rent for the year, pay off some bills and treat my mother & M&M'S to a very much needed and deserved family vacation. Nothing extravagant, just a roomy rental on a beach to enjoy some quality time with one another. We are scattered and haven't had the luxury of such in ten years. I live a very simple life & appreciate such. Having the means & ability to care for those who cared so much for me, would be a true blessing. We must remember from where we come.
