To date, I have most enjoyed creating large, spontaneous, expressive paintings, laid in quickly, and not over-worked, but letting the painting itself help guide its development. This type of large, expressive painting has long been my preferred approach for creating my art. Usually, I can "see" in advance what I feel I should commit to visual media. Many times I'm also communicating to make an impact with what already has impacted me.

Aesthetically, I find tremendous inspiration in nature. For example, nothing is quite so glorious and dramatic as an epic sunset or sunrise (which so often beautifully defies the so-called rules of color juxtaposition). But profound existential concepts often weigh upon my work, as well as a strong desire to do my own little part to improve the world and to inspire meaning for my audience.

My hope is that it would free me up to pour myself into my artwork! I know that my best work hasn't happened yet. I can't count the times I've clearly envisioned or begun an important piece I literally don't have the time and resources to create. At this point, simply surviving is demanding so much of me that studio time remains a "luxury" I just can't allocate. A smaller portion of the proceeds would go, also, toward self-publishing a book that I've been developing for several years.
