I love seeing and appreciating all genres of the visual arts; however, I am personally drawn to creating my abstract-shaped paintings. I have long been inspired by the construction of shapes and how positive and negative space coexist within the same space. In addition, the love of abstract expressionist painting, and for me, melodically weaving words written from right to left in and out of my multifaceted painting surface.
Where do you find inspiration?Much of my inspiration comes from my everyday surroundings—nature, the visual, and the sounds around me. Inspirations that began for me growing up in a small rural town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and continued through my many years living in New York. I feel very much led by the ancestors as I create. I'm inspired by life and all of humanity. For this and so much more feeds my creative spirit.
What would you do with $25,000?Like any business, I would invest in the growth of my art. This would allow me the funds to purchase additional art supplies. Funds as well towards a down payment to build my own large art studio, thus allowing me more space to explore and create more art.
