It makes me happy when a single painting helps someone pause, feel deeply, and rediscover joy, wonder, and hope.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art to create is nature-inspired work filled with contrasting color, movement, and emotion. I’m drawn to the way light dances across a landscape, the energy of bees in flight, wind moving through trees, or the personality hidden in a simple tomato or blossom. I love capturing subjects mid-motion and using bold color relationships to create paintings that feel alive, immersive, and deeply connected to the natural world.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the everyday beauty around me. I live in the country, and nature constantly gives me something to study—changing light, wildflowers, gardens, weathered barns, bees in motion, and color combinations that seem almost accidental. Inspiration usually finds me in quiet moments outdoors, where I notice movement, atmosphere, and the small details most people pass by.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to continue transforming HawkArt Studio into a creative destination where people can gather, learn, and reconnect with their creativity. My studio has the space to host art workshops, Sip & Paint events, team retreats, and community experiences that encourage people of all skill levels to explore art in a welcoming, inspiring environment.
