My love for painting abstract art stems from wanting to stand out from the crowd. It is the ultimate comfort space for me… my own kingdom.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite genre remains abstract acrylic painting on canvas because it allows for both control and more unpredictability. Through the many acrylic layers, unintended forms and shadowy figures often appear, creating a sense of visceral discovery within my work. I’m very much drawn to how each viewer interprets and reacts to my paintings.
Where do you find inspiration?I pull inspiration from a mix of artists who challenged the norm and were not afraid to alter reality. Salvador Dalí, Vincent van Gogh, and Gerhard Richter have always resonated with me for that very reason. Outside of painting — films, music, and environment play a huge role in how I work, shaping my mood and energy before I even consider creating.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded the $25,000, I would use it in a way that helps my art grow into something that can give back on a global scale. My goal is to develop a body of work over the years that doesn’t just expand my own artistic voice, but also creates opportunities for fellow artists who are trying to find their own path.
