I love all art forms. I particularly love sculpture and tactile forms of creation. But after a long focus on traditional art forms, I chose to combine my desire to travel with my love of the figure and nature. My photography journey began from that foundation.

In art school and beyond, I studied anatomy with Rey Bustos, Reid Winfrey, Bob Kato, and other legendary teachers. This involved countless hours of figure drawing, memorizing anatomy maps, and even studying at cadaver labs at USC. Combined with my interest in fitness, I loved how the body itself became a living reference for understanding observational drawing. Every workout, every movement becomes something like a mind-body understanding of the art of the figure. The inspiration feeds itself.

I would buy a 4x4 camper and outfit it as a mobile photo studio, darkroom, and art studio allowing me to reach difficult locations, do art and photography development on location. I would also use the money to hire new models and travel to the places I’ve never been able to afford like New Zealand, Australia, Bali, Europe, Japan, and Africa.
