Creating art is a way for me to give back to the world in the way that I see, feel and move.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I deeply enjoy making the most of colour. Specifically, pink, vibrant purple and deep blue hues. Such are the colours that I feel the most connected to. Using these tones combined with subject matter that I carefully select, I aim to bring alive the memories and experiences I see through the space I create on each piece of canvas.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my everyday life and things that I come across that I feel drawn to, especially flowers. But I don't just rely on the physical reality; I am able to reach and pull things from inside myself, mentally and emotionally. Some are easy to come by; others are not. I am always finding ways to seek out different parts of me and how that affects my existence, internally and externally.
What would you do with $25,000?In 2023, with the help of the family, I had slowly turned an old and unused kitchen in my home into my own painting studio. With $25,000, I would continue to support my creative practice through revamping my at-home studio with more storage and workspace. I'm currently developing my very own build workshop as an addition to my studio, where I can continue to expand my skills in making my own supports.
