I create to make sense of my mind and to bring things to reality that others will find meaning in.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create impressionistic and symbolic acrylic paintings that blend realism with bold color and pattern. My work often draws from cultural identity, ancestral themes, and personal transformation. I like to layer geometric and tribal-inspired elements into natural or human forms, creating pieces that feel both grounded and spiritual - something that tells a story beyond what’s immediately seen.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in contrast - struggle and growth, conflict and celebration. My background, African cultural influences, and personal experiences all shape my work. I’m also inspired by psychology, human behavior, and the idea that we carry both pain and power at the same time. Nature, music, and real-life moments often spark ideas that I translate into visual stories.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in scaling my art into a sustainable business. That includes upgrading my studio, producing high-quality prints, and building a strong online presence through content and storytelling. I’d also invest in marketing and systems to consistently reach buyers, while creating a collection that reflects my deeper message. This would give me the foundation to grow income, support my family, and fully commit to my craft.
