I need to breath & make art. Art makes me feel alive. My entire life is documented in photos & art. Creativity is essential to my existence.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I enjoy making art that makes people feel good. I love the look on a friend's face when I give them a personalized gift. So gratifying to sell art & witness the moment someone finds something that brings them joy & they can't leave without it. When I try to make serious or creepy art, there is always a comical, silly tone to it. Willie Nelson in his underwear, asleep on a couch, a taco necklace, a peacock flower headdress, an army medal with a pirate charm - fun art equals happy people.
Where do you find inspiration? My work is inspired by music, fashion, the outdoors, animals, family, TV shows, movies, friends, travel & this crazy ride called life. Often, the worst events or tragedies inspire my greatest work because the feelings are so intense. Looking at old photos also inspires me to create art to relive a past experience or remember a lost friend.
What would you do with $25,000?I'd take my husband somewhere cool to see a band, look at art, and eat delicious food. It would be nice to go live at the beach for a month, taking photos and snorkeling. Maybe, I'd buy a Cricut machine, an easel, some art supplies, a new mattress topper, or a used car. It would be fun to rent an Airbnb for a bunch of friends, get a band, and eat BBQ by the river. Convert our barn into a studio. I guess I should say fix my tooth, but that is SO boring!
