Art keeps my hands busy so my mind can rest—turning chaos into focus, and noise into something I can shape.. and stay caffeinated from.

I’m drawn to work that feels as good as it looks—functional pieces with a strong tactile presence. My art leans into richly carved surfaces, layered colour, and movement, often pulling from nature: wildlife in motion, dense foliage, and a bit of wild, organized chaos. I like transforming simple forms into something more dimensional—where carving creates depth and lines feel intentional. It’s not just visual, it’s about making pieces feel as good as they look.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from the natural world—especially its wilder, less controlled side. Wildlife in motion, dense foliage, and wildflowers often shape my surfaces. My time in the North continues to influence the quiet energy and movement in my work. I also pull from the chaos of daily life and a love of adventure, balancing structured wheel-thrown forms with intuitive carving and layered surface design.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d invest it straight back into my practice—expanding my studio space to improve workflow and increase production, and setting up proper recording equipment to elevate my online workshops. Better lighting, audio, and filming would let me share my process more clearly, while a larger, more functional studio would give me the room to create at the scale I’ve been working toward.
