I love to paint and recently I have really been enjoying painting with gouache and making small books of paintings, altered books.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my memories, experiences, and relationships and nature. I feel most connected to God when I’m in nature and I feel like that comes through in my paintings. It also is just really important to me as someone who is black culturally and historically because art provided a form of escape and personal expression that feels different than anything else and to see experience and be with art, in art is liberating.
What would you do with $25,000?With 25,000 I would travel, explore, paint more than ever before and invest back into my community supporting community organizations, families and people in need through art therapy.
