Making a comic book, while adding life experiences and inspirations to that comic book. My hometown has two mascots. I combined them both to make a superhero. I also use my sculptures and paintings in my comic book for references and inspiration. I have a double life inside and outside my garage. I welded, was mason, and a painter professionally. During the day I'm loud and dusty. I make metal monsters, stone gnomes, Celtic knots, a bird house or two. At night I draw and paint. Thank you.
Where do you find inspiration?God and my family. My wife believes in my dream and we have invested so many years into that dream I'm not and can't give up. We have a 7 year old son who has type 1 diabetes and like every kid needs to see their parent push passed the impossible and make it possible. Artistically, I'm inspired by the blue collar workings of my dad, granddads of Akron Oh. The road work, the farms, and the canals. Calvin and Hobbes will always be my first love. That comic strip opened a whole new world for me.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest into advancing my shop equipment and work space. I would buy a gas saver for the oxyacetylene tanks, a sand blaster, a larger air compressor,a very large light table, florescent lights, a 240 outlet installation for a larger welder, a larger stick welder, carving bar for my chainsaw, ink pens, a better lap top for digital art, take more local art classes, paints, canvas, band saw, drill press, new oxy torches, shop and art supplies is what I would spend the money on.
