I would have to say making art from recycled/broken/discarded items is my favorite. I think that we are not so defined by what’s breaks us down but, rather, by how we put the pieces back together. It’s quite representative of my life after suffering a complete mental breakdown. I have been able to rebuild myself into something stronger, more resilient and beautiful. Being able to create something beautiful out of what others view as trash is powerful and healing.
Where do you find inspiration?Sometimes inspiration comes from the random thoughts that never seem to settle down inside my head, sometimes from things I’ve seen in my travels be it online, daily adventures or traveling to visit my daughter and her family. I have a curious nature and am always trying to learn new things or expand on stuff I’ve already tried. I also have a great imagination and quirky sense of humor. Trust me, a LOT of inspiration comes from that!
What would you do with $25,000?I have a very small apartment and live on a fixed income so it would be nice to invest in some organization tools for my art and creativity items (sometimes I feel very boxed in). I’d love to visit my daughter, son in law and two wonderfully amazing granddaughters. Lastly, I’d like to take Johnny Depp to lunch!
