Painting is my way of making sense of the world. Art transcends time and place, a fixed part of life. I don’t know where I’d be without it.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!

Receive Text UpdatesMy favorite art to create comes from the small intimate moments that make up our every day lives. Nuanced and abstract iterations of memory and captured feelings. Allowing each painting to be what it wants is liberating. I'm in a very open and transitional point in my life at the moment, so I find myself looking for meaning within the unknown and intangible spaces. It speaks with a softer tone and allows me to uncover more as I sit with it. I make what feels honest and speaks to me here and now.
Where do you find inspiration? The list is endless... nature, people, family, moments in my life, poetry, culture, music, film... you name it. I absorb so much of my environment, wherever that may be in the moment, and try to hold onto it and take with me. I try to capture a feeling, either isolated or universal, and translate it into something that feels familiar. Each painting I create signifies a specific time, place, moment and feeling; this way of archiving my own experience is something I hold onto and keep for myself.
What would you do with $25,000?The realm of possibility is endless in my studio so the first thing would be to stock up on supplies to continue my practice! I’m interested in raising awareness for ALS through my art, an initiative I am passionate about on behalf of my mother. I have been considering what my practice could be beyond what it is now, exploring possibilities such as art therapy. I’m eager to see where this next chapter leads me and I'm trusting in the process of letting my work guide me to where I need to be.
