Braeden Lesher

I make art to express my unconscious thought. I find the jumbled and surreal imagery of dreams very fascinating.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite type of art to create is collage. I love illustration and photography, but i’ve found that collage lends itself more to the strange worlds I want to depict.

Where do you find inspiration?

I get inspiration mainly from my own dreams. I keep a dream journal to document and illustrate what I experienced and I find myself going back to this journal for ideas and insight into my unconscious. Experimental and surrealist movies also play a huge role for me. Giallo films with their strange plots and stark color contrasts. Experimental with its strange landscapes and twist on the traditional movie narrative.

What would you do with $25,000?

With $25,000 I would go to a university or a school that focuses on the arts. I think studying with the teaching of great artists would greatly improve my skills. I think this would also help me get a career in the art world which i’ve always strived for.
