I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil and I believe that art and storytelling are very important to all of our daily lives.

Enjoy comic art. Any art that tells a story. As a visual learner growing up, I relied on pictures along with text to help me understand much of what I’d read I love creating characters and visuals that take people places. I know I’m not a “traditional” artist. I’m more of an illustrator. But I think that comic art is just as legitimate as any art form.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by visual storytelling. I imagine a story and immediately begin thinking about how I can tell that story through pictures. I love when I collaborate with a writer and read their script and my mind begins to work in how to tell this story with my art. It’s like solving a problem. How to convey this story in the most visually interesting way possible.
What would you do with $25,000?I believe that visual arts in education is tremendously overlooked. I believe that many kids that lose their way and end up in prison or worse are kids that had a passion for art that was never encouraged or even recognized in school. I was fortunate that I had teachers who recognized that in me, but most kids aren’t. If I got the $25k, I’d certainly take the opportunity to grow my self publishing comics to the next level. But I’d like to try and work with young people in youth prison.
