it’s my form of expression, it’s my safe space to express myself and it’s always been a passion to me to create art as an indigenous person.

I love painting and sewing. I mainly do painting in my free time, it’s my favourite because it’s something that brings me peace of mind and it makes me feel proud. Art runs in my family from beading to painting and carving, I find happiness in my paintings because it’s just healing to me, it makes me happy and I think that anything that brings a person happiness and healing is what makes life better and it’s worthwhile.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my life, I grew up around substance abuse, in a community where there was no mental help for people, I grew up with a lot of trauma and baggage & mental health and wellness has always been something important to me, i try to paint emotions, memories, places . My uncle is Antoine Mountain, is a well known painter from fort good hope north west territories & he’s another one of my inspirations, I encourage others to pursue in anything that helps them express themselves
What would you do with $25,000?I would help my dad out as he’s struggling with housing, and just in general, and I’d help my mom and I’d set up an account for my education. I’d also help out homeless with food , I was homeless and struggled with addiction and I’m clean and sober, I’m currently working on getting first aid and training for work. I’ve changed my life and I want to help others find that change and give hope to others because I used to have no hope or support but now I do and I want to help others find healing.
