I love to paint large sprawling narratives that blatantly express optimism and positivity. I grew up skateboarding the streets of San Francisco, scrawling characters on any surface I could find. I still love to incorporate the free-flowing lines of graffiti into my work, while using the human form to express emotion. I strive to express the moment of clarity which we are sometimes blessed to experience, when we remember what really matters in this life.
Where do you find inspiration?Like so many, life broke my heart at an early age, and I used my art to express the pain and emptiness that was churning inside me. After years of drug addiction and imprisonment I experienced a spiritual awakening that changed my entire perception of life, It is my ambition to express the true joy that exists in this life even in the midst of an often cruel and painful world. I try to keep myself open to that beauty every day, and express it through my art.
What would you do with $25,000?I would buy brushes, paint, and canvas, and paint as many large scale pieces as possible. .
