Art that evokes emotion. My late father, Myles Borshell, was an artist, and he instilled in me how Vincent Van Gogh believed creating emotion and touching the human soul with art was a worthy pursuit.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration is rooted in helping people heal. Addiction, suicide, fear, regret don’t appear suddenly, they accumulate, often unnoticed, while life continues all around. Presence is rare as our bodies learn to lean forward into fear or backwards w/regret and not resting in the present moment. While working on my own personal growth, I became fascinated with exploring forgiveness as a decision to stop self-punishment & gratitude not as a celebration, but as recognition of what remains.
What would you do with $25,000?Attend 7-day advanced SOMA Breathwork training ($7k), move to St Petersburg FL to pursue my art and SOMA Breathwork ($10k). I will also use the $ to complete the pieces for the show as there is some construction of moveable walls and additional materials ($2k), take my two kids on a ski trip or scuba trip. I’ve learned the value of creating memories w those you love vs more stuff.
