My goal is to encourage the viewer to stop walking past their world and start questioning it.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My art focuses on mixed media, found object, dimensional constructions. The majority of my work incorporates acrylic paint as a building material, reclaimed copper wire, glass and bismuth metal.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration, for me, is found in the overlooked and underestimated, exploring how I might push an object or material beyond its intended use. My work reimagines the natural world and examines the personal meaning and emotion of home. At its core, each piece is a way to give the forgotten, broken and underestimated things a new, celebrated story.
What would you do with $25,000?The $25,000 would seed the 5 Pebbles Foundation. I’ll dedicate the vast majority to micro-scholarships for art students and grants for underserved, local art programs, ensuring the next generation has the boost they need to create. I will also invest $500 into my own studio equipment and materials.
